Guangzhou Gymnasium is a modern multi-function sports facility specially built for “the 9th National Games”. It is a place for gymnastics competition, basketball match and the closing ceremony of the 9th National Games. Guangzhou Gymnasium is a key and landmark building in the new century of Guangzhou. Located in the New Guangcong Road (the original section of Baiyun Miaopu), it covers an area of about 240,000 m², of which 80,000 m² are stadium, 60,000 m² are sports park, 80,000 m² are athletes' village, and 20,000 m2 are civil planning road. The total building area is about 170,000 m².
